My Friend was written for a lady that helped Robert Larrabee get started in the music business when he was only 21 years old. Sharron started a fan club for Robert and was instrumental in teaching him how to promote himself. Sharron passed away in March 2018 and Robert wanted to write a song that would celebrate there friendship, and indeed all friendships for anyone that has truly loved a friend.Influences were Marty Robbins and Spanish rhythms.
